This was the winner of this month's fan poll! We appreciate that in these bullshit times, we can bring you the boobs and smoochery y'all clearly so desire.

This is the winner of the comics/art poll this month! Please enjoy this goofiness... and for added bonus, I'll add the sketch as well!

This was a silly 2016 cooldown sketch from back when I did livestreams. (I have been saying for years that I'd like to start doing them again, but sorry y'all, our art program just doesn't work on Linux. We haven't been able to do digital art on this comp reliably since we got it in Thanksgiving.)

Winner of the fan poll this month by a long go! Click the pics to enlarge them!

Mori flirts by bullying into Rawlin's personal space up against a wall, which Rawlin seems equally puzzled and thrilled by. Underneath, Biff points up to that scenario and retorts, "Man, who taught you to flirt?" to which Mori replies dryly, "You did."

Biff, too butch to clutch his pearls but clearly considering it, goes, "Wha? WHEN?!" to which Mori says "Dude," and points down to a series of thought bubbles filled with Biff's high-impact style of flirtation, including smacking Rogan's ass hard enough for a chiropractic realignment, saying, "Y'wanna fuck?" and also a gleeful Rogan squeezing his bicep and marveling at the beef on his boyfriend. Biff, surveying the thought bubbles, goes, "Oh, right, yeah. Forgot about that..." Mori throws up her hands. "You been with him TEN YEARS, ya tubesteak!!!"

Happy belated ten year anniversary, Biff and Rogan!

(And today, I learned that the Japanese term for that up-against-the-wall pose is apparently kabedon. I didn't include it in the alt-text because I have no idea how well-known that term is.)
lb_lee: a chubby anthro cheetah with glasses smiling and saying, "It is if you have enough imagination." (imagination)
Rogan: It was a tie between "Old Man Yaoi" and "Cult Comix" this poll, but December is dark enough without cultery, so I exercised my blogly fiat. Besides, "Old Man Yaoi" has contextual relevance, because it's about Coming In or Staying Out, which is now officially up for sale in the violet and bubblegum pink Riso edition! $20, 24 pages, printing so pretty you'll want to rub it across your face!

Okay. Our health has been kinda rough and the fan poll and Patreon perks are a bit delayed, but hell or high water, we will be dragging our carcass through a couple shifts at the Boston Comics Roundtable (BCR) table at the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE) this weekend:
  • Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10:30-2
  • Sunday, Dec. 7, from 11-2
MICE is at the Fuller Building at Boston University (808 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA), off the Green Line.

If all goes well, we will be debuting Coming In or Staying Out, the color edition, at MICE! (As in, we will be frantically stapling and folding it as you arrive, having picked it up from another tabler at opening.) Here's the sneak peek pics the printer sent us that we've been sitting on for a week due to computer breakage!

CAKE THAT BEEF! CAKE THAT BEEF! EDIT: now with EVEN MORE spicy beef! )

It's being printed in violet and bubblegum pink on ivory paper. Exciting!

EDIT: also, I discovered that apparently all this time, the paperback of Infinity Smashed: Found Wanting had been set to international shipping rates. Eesh. We have reset the shipping to proper rates. I don't know how we fumbled it so badly, but at least it's fixed now. (And the person who ordered a copy even at that nosebleeding sum has gotten a partial refund to bring the shipping down to domestic rates.)

Rogan: This comic was the surprise winner of the fan poll this month! I originally made it for Kimball Anderson's Inaction Comics, an (out of print) collection all about NOT doing things. It was also printed in the original floppy version of All in the Family #1, but removed for the collected version, because it seemed a distraction from the main story. Warning for internalized ableism and crushing despair behind the cut, commentary in comments.

Two pages of comics behind this cut! )
lb_lee: A colored pencil drawing of Raige's freckled hand holding a hot pink paperback entitled the Princess and Her Monster (book)
Hey! We have new stuff up for sale! MULTIPLE things for sale, in fact!

See, at cons for years now, we've been selling paper-only zines of some of our essay compilations. They've proved surprisingly popular, so now that my blog is unviewable in Mississippi, I figured what the hell, put them up for sale online as paper books and digital downloads! Mississippi lawmakers cannot stop you (yet)!

First: Xenogals! ($3 Ebook with transcript here; $5 paper comic here).

Rawlin spent 20 years eaten by a parasite god and 4 years coming back from it. But what does it mean to be a person again, to begin again? Who even is Rawlin now?

Mori, the resident godslaying monster dyke, doesn't know any more than Rawlin does... but she looks forward to finding out together. Herein:
  • Selves (re)discovery!
  • Smooching
  • Anatomy lessons!
  • FEELINGS!
32 pages, 5.5" x 8.5", black and white. Text-only transcript included for ebook.

Second: Quick'N'Dirty Plural History! ($10 ebook and subtitled vid here; $5 paper zine here) In 2020, an organizer for the Plural Positivity World Conference came up and said something along the lines of, “Hey, LB, wanna do something about plural history for our conference?” They said, “Sure, why not, how hard can that be?” and immediately learned the folly of their arrogance.

The paper listing is the zine only; Payhip (and itch.io) have both the hour-and-a-half long video (subtitled) made in 2020 and the 48-page zine. All of the content can be found for free elsewhere; this is just if you want to throw us some bucks for it. It’s intended as a brief, incomplete, inglorious history of just some of the people under the many-selved umbrella in America over the centuries: double/dual consciousness, multiple personality, dissociative identity disorder, soulbonders, empowered multiples, natural multiples, the genic slapfight, etc. It’s also meant to be a decent vaccination against bullshit and lies peddled by jerks!

I suppose if people really want the vid on DVD, I can make that happen? If you want that, let me know, and I can adapt things.

Third: Crisis Planning ($3 ebook here; $5 paper zine here). This is a compilation of all LB's crisis planning essays, intended for psychological crisis but also good for general purpose. You can read some of them free on the web, but this has them all in one place:
  • How to measure your level of distress (aka: how bad shit is)
  • How to ask for help (and who to ask)
  • How to make a pocket crisis plan zine
  • How to make a plan in case you get hit by a bus, put in a coma, and need your loved ones to manage your life affairs and make healthcare decisions without you
  • Medical and legal stuff, wills, and body donation stuff
  • How to pack a go-bag (and get the fuck out of there!)
Fourth: Headspace Essays ($3 ebook here; $5 paper zine here). Have you ever been enchanted by stories that focused on psychological or imaginative geography, such as American McGee’s Alice, Ib, Inception, Mentopolis, or Psychonauts? Have you ever wanted such a place for yourself, or just a bullet-proof means of entertaining yourself while waiting for the bus? Well, in this handy dandy zine, you can learn! Contains all our posted headspace essays... and Anatomy of a Dance, the final essay which has yet to be posted online! Ooh-la-la! 32 pages, 5.5" x 8.5", black and white.

Whew! Doing all this has made me realize that having to cover itch.io AND Payhip is really annoying, guys! Adding another store page really increases the work load. I may end up closing down the BigCartel page because Payhip has opened up to physical goods, but that is a problem for Future LB!
lb_lee: a penguin saying "Just because you decide to sell out doesn't mean anyone's going to buy!" ($ellingout)
We have uploaded a chapter of Madgic entitled "the Fall of Rawlin" after discovering to our horror that the first print run of the omnibus had a printer error (entirely our fault) which made a very important part of the comic completely unreadable. It's now up (and fully alt-texted) on healthymultiplicity.com!

We are so sorry about this. The ebook has been updated with corrections, and the second print run also has it corrected, but if you bought the first run of the omnibus and wondered what the hell was wrong with page 146 or so, here's your answer.

Just a one-pager, which means we're popping it up straight here! These are what all our pencils look like before inking; eventually all these Mori and Rawlin comics are going to end up in a book called (for now) Xenogals in Love.

Beneath the image is only the textual transcript, no commentary. Rawlin was going by male terms at the time, thus why Mori asked Biff first.

Wow, y'all really stepped up for the banned book sale. Y'all sure showed me! Much gratitude to all y'all; with fans like you, I am truly blessed.

This was the winner of the fan poll and paid for by supporters at LiberaPay and Patreon! Originally printed in 2015 for the floppy copies of All In the Family #3, they were cut from the final paperback version. Now they live again!

Text-only transcript in the comments below!

The winner of the fan poll, supported by fans like you on LiberaPay and Patreon!

Mori goes to Rawlin and says, 'Dunno if I like proper kissing. Can I give it a shot?' Rawlin chuckles placidly. 'Sure.' Mori leans in to kiss her, only for her eyes to go wide and her fur to involuntarily fluff. Not noticing, Mori pulls away. 'Hmm... still not sure... might need more trials... you?' Rawlin touches her lips with her gloved hand and just says, '...I like it.'

Original posts by Phosphor of Hungry Ghosts here, used with permission: https://nightfeather.cafe/notice/AuOng8NknA7IRvgusi

A janky GIMP pen drawing of Mori shrugging. In her speech bubble is a post from Phosphor of Hungry Ghosts: "'that's like saying God should not treat his creations however he sees fit--' well, you see, if god was real I would simply kill him. skill issue."

A much sketchier drawing of Mori smirking dramatically, one hand to her chest, the other thrown out with a flame at one fingertip. She oversees a burning fire, and her speech bubble contains another Phosphor post: "maybe YOU can't kill god. but lbr. that's a you issue, my friend, not a me issue"

We uploaded Untouchable, a 4-page sketch comic about Rawlin's chronic and infectious health condition, and her self-loathing from it.

Mild content warnings for body horror, contagious chronic illness, and bad feelings from it.

Genderful

lb_lee: a kludge of the wheelchair disability sign and the transgender symbol, adorned with the words Trans Gender Cyborg (cyborg)
This was the comics winner for this month's poll! Before I share it, let me tell you how it got made.

Recently, my local senator had a Town Hall meeting, and I was determined to go. I ran the gauntlet of Trumper protesters ranting about trans athletes (I recognized them from the library bomb threat back in October and waved to them), suffered through two plus hours of technological difficulties and clustering around smartphones in an overflow room, and then had to deal with one of my fellow citizens ranting about how she didn't want trans people around her children, we were just going to kill ourselves anyway.

The feelings that meeting gave me, I could not express. So I went home and drew all the genderful people who came before and alongside me, and I wrote their words instead--their joy, their survival, their power. And I converted that rage into fierce joy and shoved the local free libraries with them, and sent them to Florida, and disappeared into the night.

Mani Bruce Mitchel, an intersex person with breasts and beard, stands topless with the words I AM NOT A MONSTER written across the chest. A halo radiates.
'This is the issue that we need to deal with in this century: what are we going to do with difference on this planet?' )

A New Kind of IntimacyA New Kind of Intimacy: 8-page sketch comic about Rawlin and Mori getting closer after a presidential election and a muscle spasm. 2025. Text-only version here.

This was the winner of the fan poll this month! Enjoy!

EDIT: we have also added to the many-selved PDF bookscan hoard Theodore Schroder's 1931 mouth-breathing fanfic about Ida Craddock, "One Religio-Sexual Maniac". Many thanks to Orion Scribner, who compressed a 27 MB file into a HUNDREDTH of its original size and made it screenreadable!

This comic was the winner of this month's Patreon poll! Please enjoy our only collab comic (besides Bring Me The Head of Phineas Gage, which had a more traditional writer/artist division)!
