FLUFF! (2024/12/6)

Mori strides in with a buzz cut, declaring, "I AM SHORN!"

"I have never seen you wtih so little hair," Rawlin says with some fascination, reaching forward. "Can I...?"

"Haha, yup!" Mori plonks Rawlin's gloved hand over her scalp.

Rawlin's eyes light up with delight and her ears prick forward. "It's so soft!" she says, fluffing Mori.

"Yeah, Sneak calls it the 'fuzzy Q-tip head' stage. Am I pettable, [symbiont]?"

"Very!"

Mori clambers into Rawlin's lap, and Rawlin eagerly gets to relentlessly fluffing her tiny Q-tip head with an expression reminiscent of a child discovering for the first time the softness of kittens.

End note: And then Mori got bored and grew it out again.

Mori: It's funny how things have worked out; when we were first created, I was the one with the super-long hair and Rawlin had short hair, and now we're reversed.

Oh, cute!

For hair belonging to people in headspace, can it grow out faster than it would in this world?

Mac: It depends! For the longest time, trying to do "impossible" things with your hair was real tricky. (There's a joke here that Sneak is the only one you can trust to do your hair, because Sneak is best at handling it for some reason.) In recent years that seems to have changed? I can switch between short and long hair if I want (but after a "remember when I was young and butch" phase, I went back to having long, I'm vain!)

Rawlin: I had the same hair until this year, and then I grew it out very quickly. I like to think I took advantage of the twenty-five years' stasis. I had it saved.

Rogan: None of us have tried to do anything super wild though, like permanently changing hair color or things like that. Sneak dyes streaks into zers sometimes, but it's not permanent. (Then again, zer hair has gone curly in recent years. Sneak, is that permanent?)

Sneak: It's a mystery! @w@
