Mori: welp, our new shrink got ratfucked by Trump, even though we only got him last month, which means we have to go hunting a new one and start the whole training process over again while moving. This means we are eager to clear our plate of other distractions ASAP!

First: Wanna help us move? We will be moving on the last weekend of May--most likely Sunday, June 1 because our other three roomies move on May 31 and we don't want the front door to become a clown car. Are you available? Are you willing to lug boxes and get treated to dinner afterward? We would appreciate you (especially if you have wheels)!

Second: FREE STUFF GIVEAWAY (long as you cover shipping)! We have a couple books free to good homes:
  • Sweet Abilene, a M/FTM porno comic by the great E.K. Weaver. Sweet Abilene is a spin-off of their webcomic Shot and Chaser, so you can get a good idea of the art and main characters! It's great! We want other people to love it!
  • Festival of the Bones II: What Is Remembered Lives, an anthology of ancestor worship stories and poems edited by the Writers Egbe of Ile Orunmila Oshun. We fed it through the bookscanner, which means this book can now be liberated! (The PDF will be uploaded once we get it OCRed.)
Finally: FRAMED ART FOR SALE! An original and two print spreads, $50 a pop (plus shipping)! Frames are a pain to move! Snatch it up on the cheap!
  • this page of MPD for You and Me (original)
  • two spreads of the queer trans multi wedding in LB Goes To Alaska (prints made to look like the originals in a sketchbook, which include marginalia and green colored pencil underdrawing that are erased from the comic). You can see a photo of one of them here. One spread shows Zyfron and Mystics doing their wedding smooch and first dance; the other shows the wedding dance afterward. These spreads inspired the name of the art show they were framed for, "Love is for all of us." If you need high-res images of the pages in question, just ask!

Okay, back to trawling my health insurance website for potential new shrinks!

Mori: Last night, for Biff's birthday (it was not, he hates TV, he hates sci-fi, he's very "we got weirdshit at home,") we watched the mysterious DVD of unknown provenance from the sci-fi library that nobody knew what to do with.

A fanmade Matrix/Star Trek/Firefly crossover thingy that never got completed and disappeared into the Internet ether? )

...does anyone want this? It is wasted on us.

Clearing out possessions for a move, and I've decided I just don't want to carry my edit proof of Cultiples 2: the Fandom Cults of Draven with me anymore. It has edit notes for a revision that will never exist, so I can't sell it.

If you want it, let me know. This book is a boil on my ass and I want to be free of it.

Ho ho ho and a messy queermas to all y’all! In honor of upcoming Fuck It’s Dark day, we are liberating some queer books! Claim ‘em and they’re yours, just pay for shipping and we’re square.

Up for grabs:

Two Spirits Dancing: A Spiritual Journeybook for Gay Men, by Andrew Ramer. Mythologizing, poetry, and sketches. It’s good, just not what we’re into right now. (Might post one of the poems though, some of ‘em are bangers.)

Speculum: A Journal of Medieval Studies, July 2023. there’s one 30 page article called “Trans Climates of the European Middle Ages, 500-1300” by Charmaille, about 800 years of scholarly arguments about Tiresias and the gender flux of the seasons. I feel like only .01% of the population would care about this and one of them probably reads my blog.

In The Warm Room, by C.R. A trans first-time porno floppy comic between a trans man named Wallace and his loving partner, Jenny. Very sweet and romantic and far as I know, completely unobtainable online. (I know the creator. This is how I get a lot of my porno. Perk of the profession.)

Hey persons, people, and my fellow perple, we are giving away our DVDs of Satoshi Kon’s mindbending anime, Paranoia Agent. Three of the episodes are legit, the other bootleg fan translations that want to explain allll the Japanese references. (Secretly: I liked those better.)

Satoshi Kon is responsible for Rogan’s favorite multi movie, Paprika, and there are lots of similar themes and realitymashing. It is however darker! It’s very good and free to a good home, if you’re willing to pay the shipping. Stake a claim and it’s yours!

We have some books to give away! Same rules as last time; first come first served, you pay shipping. Domestic preferred, if only because shipping overseas is horrendous.

Poems of Fernando Pessoa. Little known outside his native Portugal, Pessoa "the multiplex early twentieth-century European poet" and his heteronyms made quite a lot of poetry, most of which was only discovered after Pessoa's death in the 1920s. This book contains poetry from Pessoa himself, along with his heteronyms Alberto Caeiro, Alvaro de Campos, Ricardo Reis, and Bernando Soares, who were only the tip of the heteronymic iceberg. For the sake of multi history, I tried to read it, but apparently my inability to enjoy most poetry holds true even for this guy.

The Two Revolutions: A History of the Transgender Internet by Avery Dame-Griff. What it says on the tin. I want to read this eventually, so this might be more of an "I give it to you with the promise that I'm allowed to borrow it and read it sometime in the future," but I already lived through the trans/trans-/trans* wars and am in no hurry to reread them.

This one is a paper book we are NOT giving away, but Dr. Paris Williams's Rethinking Madness: Towards a Paradigm Shift in Our Understanding And Treatment of Psychosis is a very good book with a truly abominable cover and a free PDF version. Reading it gave me a lot of insight into my own mental workings, and when I'm not a phlegm monster of plague, I hope to post more about it. For now, I link and rec it to y'all!

Hello, folks! We are doing will and estate planning stuff (we are young and in good health, but it's never too early to plan) and while most of our stuff will be comparatively easy to shove at thrift stores, none of our helpers are in a good position to figure out what to do with our original artwork, sketchbooks, edit proofs, and rough drafts of our work. These are exactly the kind of objects that are probably of intense interest to SOMEONE, but certainly not everyone. So, we're putting them up for grabs here on Dreamwidth!

please be greedy! Y'all are the most likely to want such things. )

I have a couple multi books for giveaway, of polar opposite tone and content. Pay shipping and the book is yours. Comments are screened. I have...
  • (george), by E. L. Konigsburg. Kids prose. A precocious young boy's headmate notices something amiss with his friend at school, and tries to get to the bottom of it. (more info here)
  • Sacrifice, by Andrew Vachss. Burke, a merc/PI living on the seamiest side of New York City, gets involved in a case involving an abused nine-year-old multiple who has murdered two of his baby foster brothers. Burke has to negotiate a truce between the cops and child welfare groups coming to blows over him... and also get revenge for the multiple's sake. (more info here)
