Hello, folks! We are doing will and estate planning stuff (we are young and in good health, but it's never too early to plan) and while most of our stuff will be comparatively easy to shove at thrift stores, none of our helpers are in a good position to figure out what to do with our original artwork, sketchbooks, edit proofs, and rough drafts of our work. These are exactly the kind of objects that are probably of intense interest to SOMEONE, but certainly not everyone. So, we're putting them up for grabs here on Dreamwidth!

These things range from hand-drawn original pages of finished comics, to rough pencils that were later inked digitally, to printed and bound rough drafts with edits in colored pencil. I suppose falling into this category would also be our sketchbooks and writing spirals; basically every story we have ever posted started handwritten longhand in a spiral (or three). Most of it is not conveniently frameable, sorry.

To make a claim on an object, you do not need to be someone we know or have a close relationship with us. If you are an archivist of some kind (not necessarily a formally recognized one) with interest in plural or comics work, you get higher ranking. Ditto if you are within the USA. (Sorry overseas folks, but overseas shipping is a nightmare. I'm willing to liquidate my postmortem funds for the purpose, but also dumping our corpse is expensive.) PLEASE BE GREEDY! Unclaimed stuff gets recycled.

Since we need a legal name and contact info or stable address for a claim, comments are screened. Anon comments are on.

Here are the things up for grabs:

There are also sketchbooks from 2005-present, containing rough pencil or finished inked pages for every comic we have made since 2012, Cracks of Sunshine/Homeless Year on. If you want the originals of a specific work and they aren't in the loose originals section, stake your claim here so I can mark the relevant sketchbooks with your name and info. These sketchbooks are also likely to have the roughs of any piece of artwork that's not in the originals section, so make requests for that too. (You will get the whole sketchbook. I am not making my descendants dig and chop through dozens of sketchbooks. All but one are small, 6 x 9 inches tops, and the exception is 8.5 x 11.) Similarly, we have our writing spirals from 2004-present, containing at least partial rough drafts of damn near every story ever posted on this blog, as far back as the original '04 drafts of Red Roses Old Horses from Infinity Smashed: Found Wanting. (Again, you'll get every relevant spiral with the story you want, because my descendants have enough trouble without hack-and-slashing dozens of spirals.)

I have no idea if anyone would want these things, but if they're unclaimed by you, the Billy Ireland Comics Library, or the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, they're just going in the recycling because ain't nobody else want them. So be greedy and stake a claim now.
