 Sneak: plural linkdump!

  • First, Emma Grove has published a DID graphic memoir through Fantagraphics: The Third Person. It is huge, about 800 pages, and seems to focus mainly on a messed-up therapeutic relationship as Groves tried to transition, only to keep getting denied for DID reasons. (This happens often! Rogan often says he cheated and lied his way through our transition with no regrets.)
  • The Dragonheart collective has done some more awesome work lately namely, How Do I Know I'm Plural? and Should I Tell My Friend/Doctor/Parents About Being Plural?
  • Plural webrings no longer seem to exist (not that I can find anyway, and I am soooo not interested in founding/maintaining one) but some folks have compiled big lists of plural umbrella sites that would surely be of interest to folks here! Dragonheart Collective have one here, and Dervish has a soulbonding archive list here!
  • Neocities has a plurality tag! Have fun trawling!
  • EDIT FROM MORI: late to the party, but in more bummer plural news, ex-football star and pro-Trump conspiracy theorist Herschel Walker is running for Senate in Georgia. He published a DID memoir, Breaking Free, in 2008, and has a string of horrifying DV charges against him (which he blamed on the DID). Can't believe the first plural I know of running for office is this jerk.

"Kinships was the first in print magazine for Otherkin [people with nonhuman identities, namely mystical beings like elves, angels, etc.] and other 'people who exist anyway'" (Joyner, 2006 May 10a).  It was "a quarterly magazine of stories, comics, reviews, and poetry" (Joyner and Silva, 2001 April 7) and ran for eight issues, including Issue #0.

Though plurality was not a focus, otherkin plurals did take part in the magazine--most notably Criss Itterman, AKA the Crisses of Kinhost (Joyner and Silva, 2000 October) and Doltaghey House, writing under the name Ficanoss (Various, 2001 fall).

More pluralwiki!  This time it's the soulbonding community on LJ, for folks who had relationships to fictional characters.

"A Robust Connection to Fiction" --from the community's subheading (2009, January 1).

The primary LJ comm for soulbonders; it was created on January 2, 2002 (soulbonding, 2009 January 1), and deleted between January 18, 2018 (soulbonding, 2019 January 18), and June 20, 2018 (Lee, 2018).  Its archive appears to have no back-ups, except for a few stray archives in the Wayback Machine; it is lost.

PluralWiki stuff! :B Doot-doot-doot!

The Creature of Habit is the magnum opus of the Troops for Truddi Chase, a lavishly illustrated fable about overcoming trauma and PTSD habits intended to protect against harm, but which instead "place us inside a compound with walls so tall there's no way to escape. It is only in the breaking free from these habits that we begin to grow and discover our true selves" (pg. ii).

The Creature of Habit was posthumously self-published by Truddi's daughter, Kari Ainsworth, after the Troops' death in 2010.

This code was for soulbonders! (That is, folks who felt emotional resonance with media characters.  This ranged from feeling like a character "wrote itself" to said character being a fronting system member like any other.)

Neither the Soulbond Code nor the Multi Code have been really updated in fifteen years or more!  I found myself wondering, maybe it'd be neat to try and smoosh them together and overhaul them into a plural code! @_@ What do you think?  Do people even use those codes anymore?  I guess it'd just be for fun...

The Multi Code was a goofy little old-school meme that allowed multiples to condense an immense amount of information about their system into a string of esoteric nonsense.

An example: MuC N- [f] S.H+/Hf+/Uz&Uv;/Sa/Sg+/Sh/Rg A(b+ r---!/++) Os/c Wm+ Cc- OF- Pspi!/pre Fxb/s/pc^/a T+ Jm Dg R(--/+) C+++ S--

Hi guys! Sneak again, doing pluralwiki work! I always thought that "singlet" (a word to describe non-plurals) was so intuitive and obvious that it cropped up in many places and that finding a source would be impossible, but apparently not so! As I dug through archives of websites and old BBS records that Astraea gave us, I was able to find that actually, "singlet" had one source and it disseminated outward over the course of twenty-five years!

EDIT: I realized I never gave the definition of endogenic, and am so embarrassed!  An "endogenic multiple" is a system who sees their multiplicity as inborn, rather than coming from other sources. ^_^ Also, the Trash Can Collective told us their system name had changed and we've updated this post accordingly.

EDIT AGAIN: Trash Can Collective is now the Lunastus Collective and we've re-updated the post.

Hi everybody, it's Sneak again, and I am on a plural history Wiki roll! ^_^ Today I learned when and how the word "endogenic" got created! :D Coincidentally, it's also right around the same time as the first citation I can find for the urban legend of "'multiple' and 'system' are DID-only words and other plurals aren't allowed to use them"! Score!

Seeing how the "endogenic" term got created to try and be a completely separate form of language from all existing plural terminology at the time to avoid spurious claims of "cultural appropriation," only to then be claimed as cultural appropriation anyway, I think this helps prove just how bad-faith the original argument is.  DID plurals, we can do better!  We SHOULD do better!
