Thanks guys! Our main thing is to see whether the description comes through, as well as the alt-text; if so, that gives us more flexibility. There’s at least one image that we had to put “see description” or something in the alt-text field; let us know if that fails or works for you, or any other weirdness.

We are still figuring out formatting accessibly for emphasis and such.

Yay upload! Is it intentional that Rawlin's story is a zip file of 37 .pngs rather than one .pdf?

Yup! Easier to batch resize the images into web resolution to save bandwidth that way, and honestly, our own preference is to read digital comics via CDisplay.exe rather than a PDF reader.

If it sucks for others, we could work out a different way? But our PDFizing programs don’t make it easy to resize them to web res rather than the native print. It’s no big deal for little short things like Made of Noodles but 37 pages is a pain!

That makes sense! We prefer PDFs but that might be a device difference; we are used to doing everything on a smartphone these days and we rarely encounter zip files there (we were pleasantly surprised that our phone can even unpack those). We can work with them, though, it's not a big deal.

We weren't able to read this one in order because our program counts like this: page 1, 10, 11 ..., so if it's easiest to save them as .png's, it would be helpful for us if the single numbers started with a 0. And yes, we could (and still might) go through and edit all the file names ourselves, but that's also more of a hassle on a phone than on a computer. So this could be a quality of life improvement for future zip's!

Dammit, thanks for letting me know, because we DO save all images 01, 02, etc. for that reason and it’s good to know that our zipper resize program ALSO renames all the files and ruins our work. How frustrating.

EDIT: waaaait. Something’s screwy here. I just checked my own copy of the zip and all the images have the zeroes as described above. If your phone is still putting them out of order, I am completely stumped as to why. I guess we will wait and see if anyone else reports this problem, because other than giving up page numbering entirely in favor of alphabetic sequencing instead (which I don’t relish), I don’t know how to fix that.

We tested it now and apparently it was actually our phone's native zip unpacking function. If I use a different (actually good) app to unpack the same file, the file numbers work fine. Weird! But it works for us now, so problem solved anyway.

Huh! Maybe I should add a note or something for mobile users. What kind of phone and apps were you using? Maybe we can spare other readers your inconvenience!

It's a Xiaomi, and the native apps all suck. (We had to install a file manager that won't freeze the screen to show us ads every time we open it.) I'd maybe add a note that they're supposed to be numbered correctly, so if people run into this issue they'll know that it's their device. But also it did work correctly when I tried doing this with a non-crappy app, so maybe the note isn't necessary!

For now, gonna mentally put a pin on it and see if anyone else reports this problem. It shouldn’t be hard to add a txt into future zips labeled like 00ReadMe.txt with a note about this. (I admittedly dread going through all the other zips, adding, and reuploading.)
