New zine: Loony-Brain Primer!

Mori: Ugh, what a NIGHTMARE. Just so y'all know, guys, having emoticons with their own color scheme tends to cause export problems; download Noto Emoji (NOT Noto Color Emoji, those will have trouble) and use the font-color ("black and white") emoji to avoid this issue. I also hope that LibreOffice's alt-text function FINALLY WORKS this time, otherwise I'm going to be out hours of work.
Anyway! We have a new free-if-you-want, pay-if-you-want zine up: the Loony-Brain Primer! This will likely be an ebook-only release because printing a 64-page color zine is very expensive.

LB Lee have been writing, drawing, and cartooning about being multiple since 2007, but not everyone knew them on Livejournal fifteen years ago, so they decided to make this as a summary and intro to them, their history, and their work! Herein:
64 pages, 5.5"x8.5", some color but mostly black and white, contains art from over the past twenty years. Content warnings are given for Family History and LB History section. Also there's one graphic image of maggot infestation on Erin's page.
Hopefully LibreOffice's alt-text tool finally works this time! Please let me know if it doesn't, and I'll... I'll do what I usually do. (Seriously, I am so resentful that the last time I tried this, I discovered that LibreOffice alt-text option apparently just... does nothing, unless exported to a very badly formatted HTML; this is a new version and a new day SO YOU BETTER WORK, LIBREOFFICE).

- Frequently asked questions (both rude and polite)!
- Who are these weirdos?
- How’d they end up a multi zinester cartoonist, anyway?
- And why are they… you know… like that

Date: 2023-08-03 01:33 am (UTC)The alt-text doesn't seem to show in Firefox, but I don't know if that's Firefox or what
Edit: alt-tex doesn't show in Chrome either, so I think it's a browser thing. Inspecting it shows that the alt-text is there

Date: 2023-08-04 02:36 pm (UTC)but wanted to pop in quick belatedly to give well wishes to Rawlin's return!
last we had been aware of reading your updates he was 'exiled', happy to hear of the progress.
on a personal level this is sort of of-note to us, as some of us feel 'unintentionally exiled'- we inhabit our body, and they are 'trapped' in one or more locations internally. Can feel eachothers presence there, tho.
so we all sorta empathise with either rawlin or the rest of you I think <3

Date: 2023-08-05 04:18 pm (UTC)And Rawlin is still banished from our house and the front, but we've had no problems with him since January '22. I'm currently working on learning more about him, in hopes of reestablishing contact, but it's a slow process. Poor bastard needs all the well-wishes he can get!

Actually this zine answers a question that was in the back of my mind as I saw you writing about people early in the history of the system as knowing what was going on and taking steps to avoid it in the light of that knowledge, but in modern times not remembering any of it. I guess your memories getting nuked explains that.

Date: 2023-09-30 12:46 am (UTC)We also have some evidence of memories kinda getting bleached out from under us very quickly--like, Rawlin was chained up for a year, way back, but when he got loose, I really don't think he had much clue exactly how much time had passed, he kinda just acted like it's been a few weeks or a couple months. And there was at least one horrible time when Bob and Grey were trying to talk to Rogan about a horrible thing that'd JUST happened to him, had very CLEARLY just happened to him, only for Rogan to keep slipping back into a fog and insist he had no idea what they were talking about, that he was fine.
We might never know for sure exactly how our memory works.
