Scribbles and Bits

Made it through MICE. Had two episodes while tabling, but wearing a plague mask means nobody can see you cry as you pitch your wares! I was never so fucking glad to come home...

...whereupon we discovered that Murdercat has figured out how to steal our wool socks. From a shut solid steel drafting table.

Roomie’s houdini cat has discovered our bone collection. Our crow skull now has a puncture in its dome from a kitty fang. Our crow mandible is still missing.

We have had to institute a squirt bottle due to his lamentable habit of biting kneecaps. First cat we have lived with who’ll just walk up to you and nip you over and over.

He also has pogo legs and will cannonball himself out our window if it's open. He is very skinny and able to crouchleap himself through shockingly small places, so he has already escaped twice.

Despite being the disciplinarian, roomies think he likes us. 

Genius Cat died today of a liver and gall bladder infection. He was seventeen years old.

Rest in peace, Genius Cat. May you forever get all the treats and steal all the human food. There will never be another cat like you.

Also, today I finally figured out what EXIF Orientation data was, and why so many of our images kept getting auto-rotated.  Nice to know how to fix that now.

Genius Cat has learned how to slither under the couch by digging all four sets of claws into the side and somehow pancaking himself underneath.

He is a very round cat, so I'm kinda impressed he managed this.  He has done it a few times now, and seems to have a much harder time coming out than going in.  I still haven't quite figured out the mechanism, because he's so quick that the moment I look down, all I see is a tail sticking out, lashing furiously.

I fully anticipate having to rescue him from the couch at some point, but for now, I'm pleased he's discovered a new hobby that doesn't involve knocking stuff over.
