Books, Ghosts, Watch

lb_leeRogan: 550+ books in the spreadsheet. One bookcase left. Adorably tiny miniature books, it turns out, are the WORST to catalog, because you can’t just write author and title via spine, you must physically pick up and squint at the adorably tiny text inside (author often doesn’t fit on cover) and hope you can read it.
Memory work crashed down with vengeance. Mac and Biff, not me, but timing is bad. Can’t be helped.
As a “completely trivial but deeply inconvenient” top-off, a fancy pocket watch Bob got me popped its crystal. Due to rolling sickness and cons, only got it to a repair place a few days ago, and they just informed me repairs would be $600. Obviously I’m not doing that; that’s hundreds more than the watch itself cost, and I am not laying down $1000+ for a watch. (Also this same place said it needed no maintenance when I first brought it in, pre-crystal loosening, so I feel a little dubious about them saying it needs all this other stuff now.) So now I’m regretting letting Bob buy me a fancy thing. Will have to figure out wtf to do with it. UGH. Problem for future me, present me too busy.
Going to return library books, pick up sad pocket watch, and try to have as calm and low-key a day as possible. I’m tired.
