Subsystems Info?
Jan. 28th, 2023 11:05 amHey, does anyone have any decent resources on subsystem stuff? We know little about it and mostly see folks talking/slapfighting about it, not really giving information about it.

Date: 2023-01-30 04:36 am (UTC)There are memories of people seeing subsystems mentioned back when forums were active and had resource pages, but mainly as part of terms and definitions pages. Those resources pages did usually include personal websites of systems, who may or may not have talked about their own experiences. If you haven't checked those already (I'm guessing you have?) it's worth a try.
Otherwise - there might be people talking about them on contemporary sources, though we aren't on any of the platforms younger folks are and can't point out specific pages. Tumblr might be worth sifting through, if you don't mind the discourse.

And the only useful thing I found:

Sidenote: our website's not done so I wouldn't poke around much yet, but that page should work just fine!
Edit: Forgot to say that we plan to also write some more useful stuff like coping skills, but since even just "what IS it, though" isn't out there we started very basic

Again, thanks much, it was made worse that "subsystem" is a very general-purpose word, making searching more challenging, especially since it wasn't used much on the sites I was on. At least the odder microlabels make them comparatively easy to Google!

Date: 2023-01-31 06:16 pm (UTC)Think we used to have a professional source quote thing from Kluft(???) mentioning subgroupings and how they can be configured and it was still a brief one short page sort of deal but the link seems to have been lost to the ether.
Theres even less for what to *do* about it (ie- special considerations with improving system skills in such a grouping, how to 'pull' headmates from that grouping to the main grouping or otherwise dissolve the barriers between the groupings, etc)

Doesn't mention coping resources though.

Date: 2023-02-20 02:25 am (UTC)That is seriously, majorly awesome. We've been looking for such resources for a couple of years. It's been really difficult to find high quality stuff like their work and your Headspace Defence work, through Google. Not sure why but probably me& as well as others not knowing what keywords to use, as well as lots of poor quality results coming up .
When we've posted your& articles on social media or on Reddit in the past, we get comments on how it's helpful.

Date: 2023-02-20 02:33 pm (UTC)Digging around for that in-head romance stuff and nonwhite spiritual plurality citations made me realize I have more stuff on my hard drive and in my brain than I thought, and it's no use if it's not shared! (And I spend a lot of time making friendly with the Wayback Machine. We all have hobbies.)
Yeah, Google is pretty useless for this. My usual tactic is to go to certain websites that I use as hubs (often old web 1.0 sites) because they link to a whole lot of other sites, and then I trawl through the links, often jumping to the Wayback Machine because many of the old sites are long gone. So for instance, the long-deleted asarian.org domain for the old Usenet era of alt.sexual.abuse.recovery and alt.support.dissociation (both somewhat backed up via google groups), kurai's list or fictionwhispers.tripod.com(or .net, I forget) for old soulbonding stuff, and so on. Then it's just mining for diamonds.
We're hoping to gradually upload all those citations to
