Just a couple weeks ago, Asphodel Meadows did a revision of the old-ass Multiples Code!  I am officially an old, not knowing what most of those -genic words are. (And having no interest in using them.)

So glad to have those definitions, but man alive does reading them only make me wonder how people can be so sure to such a fine level of detail.

Hell, we came of age in the old simpler trauma-based/natural/soulbond categorization, and we STILL slosh all over the place! Man, wish I had such certainty as to our origins, hahaha!

The fact that they have flags for all of them and the linguistic weirdness of a lot of them* points to them having come out of the MOGAI movement, which coins as many terms for genders and sexualities (and other stuff) as people can think of and makes flags for all of them. They make terms for every conceivable experience, not just for experiences they or anyone else they know actually have. It's a very niche teen-on-tumblr-with-nothing-else-to-do thing.

*"Dreagenic" meaning "from dreams" especially jumps out at me that way - dropping the last letter of a morpheme like that reminds me of the MOGAI terms "womasexual" and "masexual" for "attracted to women" and "attracted to men."

I still like the rainbow flag best, myself! ^_^ And I think I'll try to stick with more easily figured out words. Once I figured out the logic behind a bunch of the genic words, it wasn't too bad, but I feel like if I can't easily find them in a dictionary or reason them out, I'm not going to use it for me.

Ahhh, okay. I've encountered flag blogs before on tumblr and was mostly bemused by them, so it's good to know what all that was about!

I mean, I'm not going to fault people for making flags and words if it makes them happy! It's just not my thing.

We've seen people get weirdly defensive about the flags though. Hopefully that was just a weird outlier!
