Pbbbbbt.

A collage of the corona virus and a mortality hourglass against a monolithic background, covered with various platitudes: Uncertain Times, during these unprecedented times, these unusual times, these challenging times, these strange and uncertain times, this tough time, this new reality, in times of trouble... and at the bottom: These are strange and interesting times indeed.
Made just to get this idea out of my head of making a COVID collage using all the platitudes of "In These _____ Times" that I got in the mail over the past few months.

A collage of a Southeast Asian ballet dancer, dressed as Alice, dancing through a blue cloudy sky and juggling a teapot, a blue bottle, the vorpal blade, and a few heart cards (with the Queen's face on one of them), under a labyrinth superimposted with occult symbols and a huge rose. A yellow butterfly flitters, and at the bottom are the words, "And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?"
Gigi has wanted an American McGee's Alice collage for years.  Now she finally has one.  The dancer and cards are from an Alice in Wonderland ballet program we got back in 2014; the line from Jabberwocky is from a middle school print out that we've kept all these years.

Pencil sketch of Bob, looking worn and with a big bypass surgery scar down his sternum, but still smiling and sharp.
Sketching, trying to get Bob down.  He lost weight the hard way, as he puts it.  Still a motorminded smartass though.

Ink sketch of Bob's face, looking sad.
More of the same.

An ink sketch of Grey, looking serene and wearing a flat cap.
Grey at 62 is oddly chill and at peace.  Rogan made the hat.

Little pen doodle of Rogan and Grey walking together, Rogan with his hands spread talking, Grey watching attentively.
Rogan had a lot of explaining to do.

Ink sketch of Grey looking up and signing, making as if he's pulling an invisible ribbon of words from his mouth. This is his sign for "too many words."
As Bob puts it, Grey's word budget keeps getting slashed; voicing costs a lot, signing costs less, and parsing what other people are saying costs less still, but nevertheless, ALL cost.  Now that she doesn't HAVE to talk, she pretty much doesn't, and she uses this sign a LOT for, "you are asking me to go beyond my word budget; no can do."
Ink sketch of Mori's latest hairstyle: a crewcut with leopard print shaved in down the back and side, and long earlocks, currently tucked behind her ears. She has become the punkrat of her dreams.
M.D.'s a hair chameleon.

I like M.D's hair and Grey's hat. I hope things are more restful going forward.

I get Grey with the signing. This is one of the reasons I am learning British Sign Language (well, more accurately, doing a BSL course but only really aiming at ever learning Sign Supported English).

Hey, Grey! Same hat!!

These are lovely, as usual. I haven't seen a lot of artists able to capture well the same person at different ages, but you do it well. I admire that.

Those are really cool collages.

It's a pleasure seeing your art because of how true to life it feels. not sure how to word that well
