Okay, it's time to just dump all this art; I keep just drawing more and fiddling and thinking it's not ready.  STOP IT BRAIN IT'S READY.  DONE BEATS PERFECT.

A scribbly pen doodle of our little brain avatar with a terrifying smile and dark-circled goggling eyes, shaking and chanting FINE FINE FINE FINE while a concerned-looking Rogan says "Oh brain no"

Design sketches testing out Grey's expressions. He's very unemotive and wooden, except when relaxed, and there are lots of irritated notes to that effect, among which are 'This man's pan be DEAD.'

More Grey expressions, more him being the equivalent of that person who looks possessed any time someone pulls a camera on them.

The last two of the Grey faces, him (very mildly) drunk and fierce.
Expressions for Grey. She wears a wooden mask of SRS BNS when in professional mode and hardly ever relaxes. She IS capable of smiling like a normal human, but damned if anyone knows it.

A pencil sketch of Grey on the couch, with hickeys on his neck and shirt raked up to his collarbone, smiling hesitant but happy at Bob, who looks like he's just pole-axed. The caption reads, "And that's when Bob realized he was in big trouble."
Case in point, the moment Bob realized, "Oh shit, this lady is a heartbreaker when she doesn't look like the office serial killer."

Bob's expressions. He's a round East Indian guy with glasses and a moustache, and he's way more emotive than Grey, though he's butched up considerably since the '70s.
Bob's expressions, my reward for getting through Grey's.

More pencil sketches of Bob making various faces.
More Bob (and also a Momo Usagi that failed).  He was more fey as a college student in the '70s (his Sarcastic face, despite the caption, dates more from the early '80s), but then he ended up in a macho line of computer science, cut his hair, and took to fidgeting with his glasses to try and give himself something acceptable to do with his hands.  Never did manage to axe the cattiness though, which was his defense mechanism as a fey fat brown kid in a mayonnaise sea.

A pencil drawing of Su, a soft curvy woman with a striking white streak in her hair, a few years older than Bob, draping an arm over his shoulder and saying, "Ooh, I LIKE him." Bob gives her a mock-stern look and says, "Down, girl, you're married."
Sujata, AKA Su, Bob's big sister. (His full name is Babubhai, and she calls him Babu.) She's a travel agent, amateur photographer, married with kids, and jokes that she doesn't need cable because her relatives provide her all the drama and entertainment anyone could ask for.  They're close.

A pencil bust of Linda, a reed-thin East Indian woman with intense black eyeliner, bold lipstick, a nose piercing, and rolling eyes. She has a cynical sneer on her face.
Linda, Bob's collegiate dance partner. I have to imagine she's wearing her competing makeup here, since it seems pretty extreme for both her and the time period otherwise. Sorry, Linda! She and Bob had an explosively passionate relationship as dance partners, but she had the good sense not to sleep with him.
A little pen doodle of Linda, a giraffe of a girl with straight long hair, and young Bob. They're both college students and dressed for the time period--Linda in black turtleneck, skinny jeans, and boots, Bob with big glasses, bell bottoms and and a paisley shirt. They're looking completely unimpressed. Linda says to him, 'What do you say we crush these bozos?' and Bob responds, 'Suits me.'
How Linda and Bob met in ballroom dancing, in 1973. They brought out the most competitive aspects of each other and became dynamite.

Pen doodle of Linda and Bob, in full dance costume, waltzing. They're in full sweep of motion and smirking at each other.
Linda and Bob competing in 1976. Pose reference from an old pic of Bill and Bobbie Irvine--drawing people dancing is THE best.  Probably ought to reink digital; like the crushing bozos, this was originally just a tiny three inch doodle.

A scribbly rough pencil doodle of Bob and Grey dancing. Grey's hands are on Bob's shoulders, while Bob's hands are on Grey's waist.
Not referenced, and the difference shows.  Ah well.

An ink drawing, in shades of black, white, and blue, showing Bob doing Grey's tie. Their body language is relaxed and comfortable, and they're both smiling
Morning domesticity, at a point where Grey doesn't feel the need to wear the mask and Bob doesn't have to worry about what he's doing with his hands.

I should be writing articulate things about my adoration of this and your ability to do expressions but sorry, my brain is just an over-riding squeee, so all you're getting is:

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

*BOUNCES*

I'm always impressed by how you convey personality through the different ways the characters make the facial expressions. These were fun!
