Infinity Smashed inked illustration dump
Jan. 13th, 2019 07:11 pmAAAAAAAAAARRRRRTTTTT! Because I finished all the required illustrations, which means anymore after this are optional and for fun! Huzzah!

Realized I needed to get off my ass and work on folks' clothes, since Book 4 starts two years after the start of Book 1, and covers a two-year span of time. People's clothing changes!
Well, except Raige, who is a blandcore nerd. At least Biff has the excuse of being broke and older. But Thomas is loving his ability to wear whatever ridiculous thing is in fashion, and M.D. has gone from Salvation army reject to country vet farmer.

Remember those super-baggy shorts from the turn of the millenium? Yeah, that's ONE fashion pendulum I wasn't too sorry to see swing. But Thomas has no shame; come 2019 he's probably digging through his high school photos and going, "Haha, yeah, I was great back then."
This was the one I was working on at the comics meeting and my next-door seat-neighbor was kinda looking over my shoulder and snickering. Look, buddy, I've bonded with subway tough guys over my determination to draw dicks; you should consider yourself lucky.

M.D. getting ready for her junior healer ceremony. Biff does her hair because it's that or feed her and she is way too anxious to eat anything.

Thomas and M.D. never spoke of this again. And I think this is one of the very few times Thomas ever got anything close to flustered or embarrassed. He has a very vested interest in playing Casanova, and the idea that he could have this horribly awkward failed kiss with someone he's known for years would probably shake him up a bit.

It's okay, Thomas. You've still got it.

PROMMMM.

Raige's mom and dad, long before he arrived on the scene.
Lily was never a rock star or anything, but she had (and still has) a small but UTTERLY BANANAS following. She did fiddle, piano, and vocals, and was most known for her intense live performances; true Lily fans agree that her studio recordings just aren't the same. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the tour circuit was NOT good for her health.
George didn't know jack about fiddles, pianos, or music, but he freakin' ADORED Lily.
Thomas getting comforted after his family house gets tagged by jerks.

Let me tell you, I have never been so glad that I took reference sketches and photos of my bandage set-up after surgery. THANK YOU 2011-ERA ME. Also, Biff shifts his vanish according to his mood and company, which is how I'm getting around having to redraw his grumpy ass with any sort of continuity. He reflexively lurches into full-on whiteboy mode whenever Raige or Thomas is around, or when he feels really bad.

...and then you have times like here, where he's trying very, VERY hard not to have any vanish on, for his sister's sake, since she never knew about that. The only way Biff knows how to express his care for someone is to feed them, and his sister is trying to keep herself from having a complete and total meltdown over seeing her older sibling after he disappeared a decade-plus prior with no word of explanation.

Raige and M.D. are very, very bad at flirting with people.

Raige turns nineteen, and finally gets to celebrate. It goes wrong but hey, it ends with hot springs and bubbles, which isn't so bad.
Thomas has the best family. His mom is at the top left, his dad at the bottom left, his big brother Marcus top right, and his little brother Christopher at bottom right.

Raige and Thomas dress like normal humans accustomed to a warm climate. M.D. sleeps like she plans to sleep-walk through icy fields and harvest turnips.

In the book, the illustration will be broken in half, with One and M.D. on facing pages.
M.D. has learned to be careful, even if her sister is beat up, tied up, and exhausted. One in the meantime is just trying to figure out how she can spin this to her benefit.

Raige and Thomas having fun after prom. Thanks to silvercat17's dad's pick-up truck for being a dead ringer for Thomas's. I took so many reference photos.
