Countries On Our Shelf

Just for funsies, we wondered: what countries have bestowed works on our bookshelf? We chose countries both based on authors BORN in said countries, authors who were now CITIZENS of said countries, or, in the case of interviews, where the interviewed was from even if they didn't get credited as an author, since for fuck's sake, they provide all the material!

1. USA (duh)
2. Canada (quite a few--Spider Robinson immigrated there, Lydia Kwa's from there, we have comics and Witiko stuff from there...)
3. Singapore (Lydia Kwa again—she’s Mori’s favorite lesbian fiction author)
4. Japan (a few manga)
5. New Zealand (Ant Sang and Rebecca Swan)
6. England (KJ Charles, Bryan Talbot, Team MJ Barker, and George du Maurier)
7. Scotland (Ver and that one guy who did all the anatomical illustrations)
8. Ireland (James White)
9. France (George du Maurier again, that man wants you to know how French he is)
10. Vietnam (Thich Nhat Hanh)
11. Biblical Israel (the Book of Job)
12. Austria (Viktor Frankl)
13. Germany (the Caroline H multi case by Gmelin, also some Transformer porno)
14. India (a multi-by-way-of-TBI case)
15. Australia (ditto)
16. Italy (ditto)
17. Brazil (Umbanda stuff)]
18. Peru (Ana Mariella Bacigalupo, Mapuche machi stuff)
19. Indonesia (Trance and Possession in Bali)
20. Russia (Maya Deren)
21. "former USSR" (one of the authors for that trans sex workers and Santa Muerte paper I got)
22. Haiti (Rigaud--and by god, I should have more are you kidding me, it's Haiti)

I am truly shocked we don't have any Mexican stuff on our shelf. We should! But it's funny that half these countries are due to mutli-umbrella stuff, overwhelmingly research. And I guess even though my love is strange is still in edit stages, we DO have a copy that WILL be on our shelf, and when that happens, Spain can join the list.

Ooh, good list! I have been to thirteen of those twenty-one countries, which is pretty respectable. (I have lived for at least two years in three of them.) Vietnam has a massive quantity of bookstores.

Sadly no, those books from Ny went to the sci-fi library! ...or are on my floor awaiting reuniting with that one damn cookbook, which doesn’t count, they’re not mine.
