Mori: our headspace has started having weather and seasons, but it’s not as marked in changes as out here. It gets cold enough to snow sometimes but rarely sticks, it gets up to maybe eighty, warm but not HOT, and while it rains more often than it snows, it’s pretty much never windy. Rawlin has slept outdoors here her entire life (a woman her size finds human-size dwellings claustrophobic) and is fine; between her fur coat, a poncho, and her winter den above the hot springs, she’s always been able to make herself comfortable.

But this summer has been hot, and she’s been fronting way more, leading us to learn that she overheats pretty quickly. Makes sense, since she barely sweats.

What’s more, she SHEDS. Still not as bad as our roomy cat, though.

Pff. You avoid vacuuming long enough and you'll find that any mammal sheds. (we have drifting fuzzballs right now that are from both the humans and the cats)

Given how my little body can't deal with the cold, I can see how Rawlin and I have opposite problems.

We started noticing headspace weather too! I found out that a heavy rain is a really good sign for us, actually. It represents catharsis. If one of us has a cathartic moment, the skies open up and pour rain. But I think that's the only rain we've had? Weird that we've had so little rain, since we do have snow in here...

Then there was that time for a few months when our headspace's atmosphere was weird and unearthly. It was covered in a perpetual fog, the sky wasn't visible at all, and this lattice of veins extended up from the horizon and faded out as it reached the middle of the sky. Veins would sprawl over walls and ground, even indoors. And the air... felt like "nothing," as my fiancé's boyfriend Star put it. And that pretty much describes it, yeah. Unless there was an uptick in humidity from the cathartic rains, it didn't feel like anything.

But recently, after some of those in denial accepted our inner world was alive, the veins went away and the skies became blue again. Headspace just needed to get a message through.

I wonder if one of those de-shedding things they use for huskies might be helpful? I don't know how thick Rawlin's fur is, but it might at least get the shedding fur out effectively so she's less likely to overheat.

Always interesting to compare internal climates. I've got regional weather but no noticeable seasons. I'd guess at temperatures ranging from 40 F to 80 F, with the range at 40-60F or so seaside and 70-80F forestside. Humid regardless of location, most of the time. No snow, but plenty of rain and mist. Fog/etc. is also common. Wind, sometimes. That's more common in the forested area, which usually has a breeze going. And you could argue the state of the tides seaside is a form of weather.
