Seeking: an oldass drawing tablet

Hey, so, our doughty travel drawing tablet, a Wacom Intuos 4 from 2011, finally bit the dust. It did so as quietly and gently as possible; just one day it wouldn't turn on. (And we checked multiple cords, ports, and machines. Never got it to wake. RIP, Tabby.)

We are looking for a replacement travel tablet, and we figured before turning to Ebay, we'd see if anyone here has some old-as-dirt Intuos or something they want to sell for cheap. Old is a necessity because, uh. We need a tablet that will run on Windows XP. (Yes, I realize that's absurd, but look, BSOD still runs great, it's still my travel computer, I'd rather get my hands on a cheap old used tablet than throw out a perfectly good computer AND buy a new tablet on top of it.)

An Intuos 4 would be especially handy, since we still have our install disk from that so KNOW it will run on BSOD, but any old tablet that'll run on XP is welcome.

If nobody here has one, we'll just grab some old Intuos 4 off Ebay for $20.

we can check if we still have our old wacom! it’s most likely gone since we havent used it in years but it might be around somewhere, we should know by the end of the day/tomorrow :3

There are a LOT of different Intuoses and some are way newer than others. There should be a model number on the back, like CTH-440 or whatever, could you tell me what it is so I can see if it’s old enough to run safely? Don’t want to put you out over a tablet too new to run!

it’s CTL-4100WL! we got it back in ~2018 if not earlier.

YES RIGHT SORRY, we were out of town all weekend and the Wacom drivers site was completely unusable on our phone, but we're finally back and could look it up!

Yeah, ha, sorry, no way a 2018 tablet would run on our 2006 laptop, sorry guys. It's Windows 7 and up only.

Okay, I am offering - and free - but it will involve me finding it, as I am cleaning up my Momma's hoard of stuff. I saw it a few months ago, but what I did with it then, I am not sure. So.. give me time, and please comment back here if you find one in the meantime. But I will definitely have a good look for it over these next two weeks, and hopefully find it sooner than later. I am in Colorado.

Aw, thank you! I think we just used one of the default styles, made a little header bar and tiling wallpaper, and removed a few modules we didn’t need.

I have a venerable wacom that I got for free from someone else, years ago, but I don't remember what model it is. I'll check when I get home. I haven't used it in years, so I'd be happy to pass it along.

No problem! The model number on mine is CTE-440. It's the same as the one in this post, but I only have the tablet and pen, not the mouse. Let me know if this one would work for you!

Oh hey, yeah, looks like you're the winner, that old Graphire should totally run on XP! And the drivers are online (though if you still miraculously have the install disc, I'll happily take it), and I can't see myself needing the mouse; tablet and pen should be just fine. How much you want for it?

Ok. We have to ask! What make/model is BSD! For an XP computer to be running this long, it’s probably a god in its own right. Like our 2004 laptop that is a brick but would still run if it was here and not TN.

Oh gosh, it's an old Dell Inspiron 1300, and when it finally does succumb to old age, I am throwing it a goddamn funeral because it DESERVES one. The little guy is old enough to drive, vote, and die for its country!
