Thanks to
dismallyoriented, we just learned of the existence of the "tromboon" ("a cross between a trombone and a bassoon, having all the disadvantages of both"). According to Wikipedia, the sound quality is "best described as comical and loud."
It truly exists. The Wikipedia has a sound file: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tromboon-sample.ogg
Shared pain is lessened, shared joy is increased, and thus do I now share it with you. As a former school bassoonist, it is my duty.
