Okay. It's coming up Christmas, and so many of my friends are or have been in such bad situations that I'm making a mass download of what I call "SAVE YOURSELF" resources.

These are ebook versions of things I've gotten that helped me get out of terrible situations--or, if I couldn't escape immediately, survive them until I could. I hope they help you--and if you're not in a terrible situation, I hope they help you recognize terrible situations in the future.

It contains:
  • "Quality of Life Scale: A Measure of Function for People with Chronic Pain" by the American Chronic Pain Association (helps give you data points for how well you're doing, since a terrible situation can sometimes seem normal and fine)
  • "Five Geek Social Fallacies," by Michael Suileabhain-Wilson (helps diagnose what's going on in your social circle)
  • "On Interpersonal Badness," by Fugitivus
  • "Power and Control Wheel for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Relationships," by Roe and Jagodinsky (more diagnostics)
  • Domestic Violence: A Resource for Trans People, by the Greater London Domestic Violence Project
  • Why Does He DO That?! Inside the Minds of Abusive and Controlling Men, by Lundy Bancroft
  • DBT Skills Handbook from Fulton State Hospital
  • The Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Sourcebook by Glenn Schiraldi
  • got parts? by ATW (multi self-help book)
  • The 'Hurt Yourself Less' Workbook, by Dace, Faulkner, Frost, Parker, Pembroke, and Smith
  • Hello, Cruel World: 101 Alternatives to Suicide by Kate Bornstein
  • After Your Suicide Attempt by Samantha Heames
  • Survival Without Rent, by Unknown
  • Good and Cheap, by Leanne Brown (food stamps cookbook)
