Yeah, and online memory is super-short. I keep running into people who seriously seem to think that the only reason people look down on multiples was "endogenics" ruined everything... even though the word and the pissing contest didn't exist until 2014, as far as I can prove by records.
That said, everything I heard about McMartin was that it was a total shitshow, and really was a mess.
