Yeah, I know folks who've integrated, and it was apparently a total bear for them. They have to totally revamp their idea of who they are as a singlet, and it's left them really perplexed, vacillating, and desperately trying to figure out what they think or feel at any given time. (Complicated by the fact that they might be median.)

A while back, I trawled through some studied on integration. None of them had big enough sample sizes to really be used globally, but something I noticed was that a lot of people's integrations didn't hold. They'd go back and forth for ages.

Frankly, I hope never to integrate. Going through that amount of identity upheaval, possibly multiple times, on top of everything else sounds dreadful. (Said integrated friend? Only started dealing with trauma AFTER the integration. Now there's something that never came up in the goddamn books!)
