Meanwhile our parents were such that after a certain age "Imaginary friends are baaad!"...and it didn't help that we went to a state school where things like that were...not looked on well at all, and we didn't have much time to ourselves as kids.
Hell, we didn't find out we were multiple until we were 27...I can't believe it's almost been ten years. There were things that hinted at it before then, but the selves-aware stuff was then.
Yeah, it probably would've been. :/ Our relationships with plurals weren't that bad. I mean we had a relationship with 1 system go south, but so far that's been it-I would say 2, but 1 system just followed the other's lead without asking us questions to see whether things were as they clamed, so I just say 1.
I'm glad we've figured stuff out now though, it makes it a helluva lot better.
