I hadn't heard that! I actually based some of it on one of my uncles, who
had family reputation of never being able to wear a watch, because they'd
always stop. Nobody was sure why this was so, but our mother theorized
that he had some kind of bodily electric field or something that
interfered with watches and such. (And who knows whether that family myth
was true!)
