Yes, that's true.
One of the more peculiar effects of me being linguistic SillyPutty is that's how I learn languages. From the ground up, creating a native speaker inside my head. So I get the humor, and the vocabulary that doesn't quite translate, and so forth. Narrow but deep knowledge. Just one of many reasons why I don't think like a white person.
