Two things really hit home... I know enough about Texas, and about Old White Men and bullies in general, to know what that feels like, "Y'ain't from AROUND here, are ye, boy?" And it's always "boy", even to someone old and grey. And the second is.... knowing that when you know a language well, you can *think* in it.... you don't have to translate, you grok it.
