Bye Bye, Etsy! >8D
Feb. 24th, 2023 03:07 pmMori: We're free! We're free at last from Etsy's nonsense! We've put our Etsy shop on permanent vacation and completed our move to BigCartel!
Not a moment too soon, either. Turns out Etsy's "vacation mode" shuts down sales, but doesn't turn off auto-renewal of listings (which costs), and we couldn't turn off auto-renewal without updating all our listings for their newest policy about returns. So we mass deactivated all of them (which DIDN'T require us give totally pointless return policies) and THEN turned on Vacation Mode.
Good thing we read the Help before doing that, or we'd be paying them until our bank card expired or until we noticed the financial trickle.
Free! Free at last! No more custom thumbnails to compensate for Etsy's involuntary auto-crop! No more playing to their stupid algorithm and constantly having to update listings to reflect their newest policy change! We're just paying a flat $10 a month and there are NO REVIEWS and NO ALGORITHM and I am so happy I could cry.
