From the introduction: One of my first essays in English graduate school discussed the creation of online communities coalescing around specific identities and interests. 'We’re Here, We’re Queer, We Have E-mail' was a dreadful essay, but it raised several issues in early 1993 that have remained important to me to this day... LOL.
