Oh yeah, right now, ze isn't even TRYING to locally host all that, just because... oh god it would never end. (And also because zer catalog has a whole section for sources with complete data loss, so that people at least have a record that such a thing EXISTED, even if there seems to be no longer any trace of it. Who knows, maybe someone will see the record and turn up to say, "Oh hey, I downloaded pages of that as a high-schooler, you want them? I found the floppy disk they're on.")
We've made been quietly making local back-ups of certain files, but we try not to be a data hoarder, so there are limits.
