I agree with most of what you described (not sure about the idea of primate otherkin being imperceptible though because there are notable behavioral differences between human and nonhuman primates) and they are reasons why I think a triune brain theory is not necessary for explaining otherkin, just as it is not necessary for explaining anything else. Also in the usual triune brain theory, the limbic system is said to be the "mammal brain" rather than the "ape brain", I've never heard it called the "ape brain" anywhere else but here. It's still outdated either way though.

As for the idea of brain differences in trans people, I am a bit skeptical about it, if only because I fear that the supposed "brain gender" of some trans people may not match with their actual gender. If a trans man is found to have what's believed to be a "typically female" brain, what does that mean for him?
