I think the lawsuits they're referring to are the Jennifer Hoult and Lynn Crook cases, both trials that involved resurfacing memories of sexual abuse and ruled in favor of the victims. The FMSF did a lot to try to smear them, to the point where Lynn Crook even had to write her own correction of her life history and lawsuit after they misrepresented it. But yeah, I think that got a lot of abusers running scared, to see the victims win in court, and there happened to be quite a lot of abusers in high places who were scared of being outed, enough for them to throw together their own giant defense machine.
