Gosh we try. It really bothers us when we fall short of full accessibility.

2005 we started our podcast Many Minds on the Issue for all of a handful of episodes — but the otherkind-hosts group on Yahoogroups! had all but died. We got frustrated with audio tech and got bolluxed. Then we went underground for the better part of a decade or so. Other than publishing our autobiography in 2009.

I think there's around 6 blind plurals in the Facebook community. Several on Twitter too. You're welcome for our inadequate and humble fumbling attempts to accommodate and please never hesitate to ask for us to do something if we do fall short. We presented at Healing Together and someone (Stronghold actually — lol — our co-organizer for the plural conference!) began audio-describing to a blind friend when we were writing on a flipchart, and we were so ashamed we started to audio-describe what we were drawing. It helps anyone in the room anyway. Not everyone can see what we're writing from everywhere in the room.

We just did an accessibility page for the Plural conference https://pluralevents.org/Conference/Accessibility — so all the sessions that have no visual aides (many sessions were audio only) are listed as not needing audio descriptions. Our Better Spoons presentation we audio-described it while editing the session so all attendees get to hear full audio description of the 2 visual aides. We're not an expert of audio descriptions but I think we did Ok.

We deeply value that things be as accessible as possible. Trying to improve accessibility. But the cumulative body hours that it takes to do it *cries*. Designing it straight away into presentations is a LITTLE easier. We had presenters provide transcripts, next we really need more volunteers to get caught up. And to train our presenters to audio-describe from the start would raise the bar too.
