Unfortunately, I have the feeling that for many of the people who primarily need to do memory work relating to things from this lifetime, home not being the safe space is probably not very weird. I'm not many people, just me, and I understand I'm very different, but I do try to talk with people, and I also note disturbing statistics I've heard like the percentage of people whose abusers are family.
I think you're right about where "most" people feel safe, it's just that for this topic, we're more interested in a subset of people who are quite different from "most" people. So I think your advice on good places to look for safe spots seems fairly spot on.
