I wonder if one of those de-shedding things they use for huskies might be helpful? I don't know how thick Rawlin's fur is, but it might at least get the shedding fur out effectively so she's less likely to overheat.
Always interesting to compare internal climates. I've got regional weather but no noticeable seasons. I'd guess at temperatures ranging from 40 F to 80 F, with the range at 40-60F or so seaside and 70-80F forestside. Humid regardless of location, most of the time. No snow, but plenty of rain and mist. Fog/etc. is also common. Wind, sometimes. That's more common in the forested area, which usually has a breeze going. And you could argue the state of the tides seaside is a form of weather.
