Yeah, I feel like the closest I've seen before this was like, losing a telepathic bond partner, which isn't quite the same. There are plenty of Big I stories in the MPD/DID book realm, but those go really hard on "this is awesome and not a loss at all!" Which... if that's someone's experience, I'm not gonna take that from them, but when that's all there is to read about...
