Mailing List and Patreon Stuff
Mori: Hey guys, we've talked about this before, but Patreon continues a-rumbling and all good rats have a way off the ship, so here's what we're doing/planning:
First of all, we're making a mailing list! If you want mass emails as to our work (event/con appearances, new titles, new stuff posted), leave your email address in the comments below! (Yes, even if you know for a fact that I already have your email. If you don't explicitly say, "put me on the mailing list!" I won't.) Comments are screened, so nobody but me will see them.
The mailing list will likely follow a similar rate to Patreon: roughly four emails a month. Maybe as much as twice or thrice a week when covering long event announcements . ("I'm here tomorrow!" "I'm here today!" "Still here!") If you have a preference for a separate "offline events" mailing list (because you live far away or whatever) we can do that! Leave your opinions in the comments! (We will also continue making announcements here.)
As for what we plan to do with all the art we're making: our writing is back to being publicly hosted on Dreamwidth. (Fiction will also be mirrored at SquidgeWorld so you can download ebooks of it in every format under the sun. We will also continue selling ebooks on itch.io and selling paper books through BigCartel.) Because Dreamwidth has such a strong history of protecting queer kinky porny art, we are also planning to start posting our Patreon art dumps publicly here (or on healthymultiplicity.com), and adding comics, zines, and sketchbook scans to the monthly votes. Yes, you can vote for a comic, zine, or fully-scanned sketchbook to be uploaded in its entirety for public viewing! (Right now, Boy Meats Girl is up for the vote. Stay tuned for more!) Doodle postcards... well, we haven't figured that out yet.
"But LB, where your money going to come from if Patreon rots out?" Good question! We have been on LiberaPay for years; some folks have already moved over. You can also do automated monthly recurring donations via Paypal or Venmo. (With Paypal, there should be a "recurring donation" box you can check when sending money. We're working on setting up similar on Venmo, but right now, their business account stuff all seems to be app-only.)
As you can see, the new way won't be a carbon copy of the Patreon way. And to be clear, we will continue our Patreon submissions until it goes Twitter! We will be doing BOTH at this time! We just want to keep you informed as to our business changes and plans, so if Patreon does suddenly go Twitter, y'all won't be caught by surprise.
