"Safer" spaces are possible. We mitigate risk by talking about the more sensitive stuff with less people. We won't stand on a hill on Twitter shouting about our baggage. We probably will obliquely mention it in say AlterNation or our own FB group (about 50 members). But if it's really sensitive we have a couple really small 10 body groups or less to air it out. And if it's REALLY sensitive no one hears it but either our partner or our journal.
