Rogan: Okay, thank fuck, there were a few snowballing complications, but I finally have a working public-facing email again.

I am using the Dreamwidth forwarding address feature, so in case my new public email gets killed, I can just keep the same address and avoid this kinda chaos again. (I should've done this earlier, but this is one of the many features of Dreamwidth that I never paid attention to, because up until this moment, I never needed or wanted such a thing.)

If you need to get ahold of us, you can now drop us a line at lb_lee at dreamwidth.org. For as long as this site or us are still around, and as long as this feature is part of a Paid account, it should hold.

Where to buy the AllFam Ebook in the meantime

Thank you again to everyone who's contributed to the Banned Book Sale; I didn't expect the response and am deeply grateful. I've sold like a dozen books in a week, which is super-unusual for me. Thank you!

Until I hash things out with itch.io (no response yet), you can buy the AllFam ebook (and the script version) on Payhip. I am slowly uploading all my ebooks there, starting with the stuff most likely to be banned. I have everything copied over now except for the Megapack which is... by far the largest and may take a bit.

EDIT: okay, Megapack should be up now too. Whew.

This was the winner of the fan poll and paid for by supporters at LiberaPay and Patreon! Originally printed in 2015 for the floppy copies of All In the Family #3, they were cut from the final paperback version. Now they live again!

Sneak: Sorry for the delay on this! The holiday and our shoulder slowed me down, but all our comics on healthymultiplicity.com should now be up and working again! And now I get to finally tell you about what I ORIGINALLY wanted to tell y'all about before I managed to accidentally delete everything...

Phosphor of hungryghosts wrote up some snazzy code that allows you to cross-reference multiple pluralstories tags at the same time! So now the Pluralstories Tag Page exists! This should make things easier for mobile users, and just anybody who doesn't want to kludge together chunks of Dreamwidth URL! Thank you, Phosphor! :D

Sneak: While updating healthymultiplicity.com with a new feature... with two clicks I ended up accidentally deleting every comic we ever posted to the website. T_T I am reuploading and correcting the filing system to make future things easier, but things might be hairy for a bit. I will update this post when I have finished, but I will probably have many bugs to fix.

EDIT 23:16: I have reuploaded all the comics (except Alter Boys In Love, which needs to be redone because I think its file is too big and my zipper/PDFer doesn't work on Linux anymore) and thumbs and corrected the file tree. You will probably need to update your bookmarks, and if anything is still broken or not showing up, please let me know right away!

I also have a treat for you guys but that will have to wait until I get a good night's sleep and finish the fixes from before. -_- The important thing is, no data was lost. Hooray for back-ups!

Pluralstories Back-up stuff

Mori/Sneak: We've been organizing our pluralstories back-ups so that we can make copies for bodyetal, and also taking the opportunity to grab things off archive.org that we doubt will be around for much longer. <_< I now regret giving the House our copy of Paranoia Agent, oops.

Since emailing the creators got no response, and my heart beats in seismic waves seems to be completely impossible to find anymore, we finally bit the bullet and bookscanned and uploaded it. The scan is very ugly, and the silver ink isn't done justice at ALL, but at least this zine won't be completely lost media.

Sneak: Soooo, it turns out my clever solution to the plural tagging problem by batch-renaming them as "1+" means that I can no longer get the "AND" command working to cross-reference multiple 1+ tags. It seems that adding the + sign (or any symbol that isn't a letter or number) changes the 1+ tag URL from pluralstories.dreamwidth.org/tag/plural:blahblahblah to pluralstories.dreamwidth.org/?tag=1%2B:blahblahblah. The OR command still seems to work (apparently it's the default if you just list the comments, as shown with https://pluralstories.dreamwidth.org/?tag=1%2B:relationships:romantic,1%2B:creator+speaks+from+experience,price:free ) but...

That... is a major problem. Like, I know kludging together the tag URLs for cross-referencing is really hard on mobile in general, but at least it wasn't IMPOSSIBLE. The whole reason I wanted to set it up this way was so people could cross-reference multiple tags at once and make sure they only got things that pinged ALL the correct tags!

I am also not sure how to FIX it. Like, batch renaming the tag to "plural" again has the same problems as before. Numbers get boosted up the ranks, but >1 just broke things completely, and any other number choice would be totally arbitrary.

The only other solution I can think of is to figure out a "1+" synonym that ranks alphabetically between "about" and "access," which is... I don't know any. (And "access" also doesn't come with any synonyms I can think of easily to give more wiggle room.)

Nooooooo. I tried too hard to be clever and reap my folly. T_T

Madgic #4 paper listing up for sale!

This weekend was intense. But the listing for the paper version of Madgic #4 is up. $8 like the others.

Now to collapse and do nothing of importance for a bit.

EDIT: okay, I lied. Because there will likely be things needing taken care of, I decided to lurch ahead and upload the winners of this month's poll. And it was actually easier to just upload the ebook I made of EOZ for the Fitchburg Fandom Fest than it was to cut/paste and reformat it here.

So, with no further ado:

Embry, Olly, and Ziggy: my abortion story (by Rogan): This illustrated zine contains explicit violence, rape, incest, miscarriage, abortion and arguments thereof, teen pregnancy, disownment, hanging, a suicide attempt, and also consensual queer teenage sex. Reader discretion is advised. 16 pages. 2024. Alt-text built-in.

Boy Meats Girl: A zine about an abusive relationship, told overwhelmingly through collaged documents of the time: love letters, poetry, creative writing, photos, art, doctor's notes, etc. (The sole exceptions are written notes on the collaged pages, the Accord of 2004 strip, and the pages concerning the final confrontation.) As part of the process of making this zine, the originals were burned to create the final few pages. 32 pages, full color. Content Warnings: rape, vomit, strangulation, body horror, mental illness (specifically, PTSD and DID), headmate complicity in abuse, and endless whining. Script here.

Pluralstories Tag Updates

Sneak: I did a much-needed update of the pluralstories tags! I know big sweeps like this make it harder for people but it really needed doing. <_<;

The "language" tags have been popped out into their own section again because they were swamping the "access" tag section otherwise. The access section is way more manageable now!
I changed all the "plural" tags to "1+" instead, which was long overdue. They're probably the tags people look at most, and having them under P meant they were buried at the end of the page, and also "plural" no longer felt expansive enough for my purposes. Renaming to "1+" solved both problems! :D
In that vein, I relocated the "creator" tags into 1+, and I merged them into one "creator speaks from experience" tag. There were only two different tags in the first place ("plural creator" and "creator speaks from experience") because I created the "plural creator" one first, then realized that it wasn't expansive enough. That's a distinction that I no longer see as relevant to the archive. It felt like playing into turf wars.
I merged the "dissociation" tag into "1+:type:medical" because that Venn Diagram is basically one circle.
The 1+ change did mean I had to relabel the most vital "about the archive" tags with a preceding 0 so they'd stay on top, but oh well.

The 1+ tag is still hairier than I'd like, but oh well, it's an improvement!

Pluralstories back-up links

Sneak: I have gone through pluralstories and added back-up links to everything I could, and sent requests to a few people about rehosting their work, because two more things have been deleted off the Internet and now, as far as I know, only my local hard drive copies remain! From here on out, every new submission I get, I'm going to try and have a back-up link at the start when feasible. -_-

I also changed the "access:deleted" tag to "access:lost media" to describe works that are partially lost (like parts of Silverwolf, the Princess and the System, and Gemini) and added "access:online" for works that can be found on the Internet.

I am so tired. Is dinner and sleep time now.

Pluralstories Cohost Back-ups!

Cohost is going down, which means I've gone through the pluralstories catalog and put up back-up links of every entry originally hosted there.

The only entry I haven't done yet is Loony, by Sapphic Slob, which, being an adults-only erotic comic, is behind an "adults only" click-through that the Wayback Machine cannot bypass. I have sent a message to Saph asking if she has it uploaded anywhere, and if not, if we may have permission to rehost it. (EDIT: backed up! All set!)

I'm really glad I have gotten into the habit of making local copies of everything as I go through! Maybe I should just get in the habit of making Wayback Machine links for every catalog entry it's relevant for, as I go... just to make sure.

Pluralstories nonhuman logging!

Sneak: I went through the pluralstories "nonhumans" tag, and I manually added in the catalog entries the various nonhumans represented! I had considered doing a tag family, but it would've rapidly gotten out of control, with a billion tags all with only one or two entries. (Also the thought of trying to squish them down makes me cry--like, have separate tags for angels, demons, lwa, mpungos, gods, and spirits, or compress them down to "spirits"? But what if someone is SPECIFICALLY looking for Vodoun works and want lwa specifically? Oh no!)

Now, if someone really wants to find, say, a pluralstory with robots, they can just search "robot" and get a dozen!

The only entry I couldn't do this with was System's Out! because it's really, REALLY long and an outside submission. (I also was kind of stumped by Soft-Pedaled because there were characters I couldn't really guess the species of or how to quantify them!) But it's a start, at least!

In Brightest Day, In Darkest Funk! (the Gray Lantern Corps of Depression)

Sneak: I uploaded this month's comics poll winner, In Brightest Day, In Darkest Funk to healthymultiplicity.com! The text-only script version is here!

Rogan: I originally made these strips during the Homeless Year; they never made it into the book of the same title because the Green Lanterns are not my intellectual property. (Though Guy Gardner, the world's most obnoxious Green Lantern, previously appeared in Edward Cullen Adventures.)

While I was making this comic, I was struggling with feelings of worthlessness, psychological exhaustion, and worries that my being on medication was simply blinding myself to the truth of how shitty the world was. During this bullshit period of my life, it gave me comfort to imagine my favorite superheroic anti-role model fighting these phantasms of misery (and by making those phantasms comedic, I could laugh at my own despair). I still have a fondness for Guy Gardner as an emblem of someone who has never, ever let failure, internal or external alike, stop him from doing his damnedest to be a superhero (even though he's never been that GOOD of one).

I had completely forgotten these strips' existence until hanasaseru remarked how much she'd enjoyed them, a decade plus down the line. I never expected them to win the poll the moment they appeared! I hope that despite the rough Homeless Year art, they still give you a laugh.

healthymultiplicity.com update: Oneselves and the 1791 case!

Sneak: healthymultiplicity.com's filehosting started working again finally, so I have uploaded Papierfliegerfalter's translation of a 1791 German medical multi case! As far as I know, this is the first time it's been translated into English, rather than just summarized, and papierfliegerfalter have graciously granted permission for it to be spread publicly!

We also book-scanned Baldwin's Oneselves: Multiple Personalities, 1811-1981, which has never been digitized, as far as I know, and Orion Scribner fixed it up and made it screenreadable! It's now uploaded too, hooray! It's a bunch of thumbnail sketches of various multi cases from the time period in the title.

Alter Boys In Love: GIDID is up!

The next chunk of Alter Boys In Love, GIDID, has been uploaded! This was a zine follow-up to FTMPD (I clearly didn't learn my lesson about naming things after esoteric portmanteau-ed acronyms), made in 2016, when Biff and I were newly together.

As before, the text-only script version for the whole book is here.

EDIT: I also said to hell with it and reorganized our healthymultiplicity.com comics page to be in reverse-chronological order per CREATION date, rather than UPLOAD date, because I was sick of having old stuff like Edward Cullen Adventures up top.

EDIT 2: I really with healthymultiplicity.com's file manager wouldn't log me out constantly, including when I'm in the middle of uploading a file.
